If you possess an eagerness to meet, greet, and chat with people from all over the world, come experience the joy and excitement of being a Will Rogers Roper, a docent volunteer at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. (No actual rope twirling ability required!)

As a Roper, you will welcome our visitors, introduce them to the museum, point out places of interest, and answer questions about the exhibits and Will Rogers. Our training will provide you with the information and resources you will need as a Roper volunteer.

Prospective Ropers should receive or achieve the following:
✪ Intensive training by the staff of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum
✪ Good communication and interpretive skills
✪ Introduction to the collection and its historical significance
✪ Reading lists and resources
✪ Opportunities to shadow experienced Ropers
✪ Supervision as the new Roper conducts a tour
✪ Continued training and seminars to remain up to date with

exhibits and programs

Ropers may also work in the following areas:
✪ Archives
✪ Tours
✪ Collections
✪ Garden

To become a Roper, you will be required to:
✪ Read and research the life and legacy of Will Rogers and the collections and history of the museums;
✪ Undergo a background check
