In 1927, during a national tour to raise money for flood victims, Will Rogers developed a stomachache. Soon, he required gall bladder surgery. He wrote of the experience in a two-part series for the November 5 and November 12, 1927, editions of Saturday Evening Post magazine. Two years later, G.P. Putnam’s Sons published the book version with Grim Natwick illustrations. This reprint was published in 1994.
