Frances N. Sterling, who with her husband, Bryan, spent many years researching and writing about Will Rogers, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in New York City, where they lived.
The Sterlings were in Claremore and at the Will Rogers Museums often during their 30 years of working on Rogers’ books.
Services were Sunday at Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of Frances,” said Steve Gragert, Will Rogers Museums director. “”She and Bryan have done more than anyone else in recording the legacy of Will Rogers. We will miss her contributions. Our sympathy goes to Bryan.”
A native of Canada, she and her husband won the Western Heritage Award for “A Will Rogers Treasury,” as the outstanding non-fiction book of 1983.
