Will Rogers
In 1932 when Will Rogers came to Oklahoma Military Academy to play polo, he wore the yellow silks of the OMA team, Will Jr. played on the opposing team (OMA won). Will later paid for the OMA team to go to California to play Stanford. Cara Cowan Watts, Cherokee tribal councilor and Will Rogers Memorial Commission member, paid tribute to Will’s polo days during the Rogers State University Centennial Parade. Andy Hogan, Will Rogers Memorial Museums historical guide and Will Rogers’ interpreter, roped his way down the parade route.
