Will Rogers Memorial Museum benches to be dedicated
Susan Rollins was the first instructor of Will Rogers Ropers, a successful docent program at Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Since the program started ill health has forced her to curtail activities. She has a group of devoted followers and friends in the program.
One of seven upholstered benches to be introduced into the furnishings of Will Rogers Memorial on Friday, July 1, will be “Susan’s Seat,” a gift from Will Rogers Memorial Museums Ropers.
Benches will be placed throughout the Museum to enhance visitor seating.
Each bench will have a brass plate identifying the honoree and donor.
Roper Linda Bradshaw is providing benches in honor of Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club, founded June 29, 1899; and Jimmy Rogers, son of Will Rogers, 1915-2000.
A gift from Donna McSpadden honors Clem and Donna McSpadden and the Bart McSpadden family.
Gordona Moore Heiliger, board member of the Will Rogers Memorial Foundation, has given a bench in honor of Pauline Mark Clarke. A Tulsa resident and graduate of Will Rogers High School there, Heiliger owned Gordona Duca Realtors in Claremore and Tulsa before she retired and the agency was sold.
Other benches are gifts from Tuesday Study Club of Claremore and Friends of Will Rogers Library.
