State Secretary of Public Instruction Sandy Garrett and Andy Hogan, retired Claremore school administrator, delivered the key addresses to open the North Central Association annual conference in Tulsa. Garrett updated educators and administrators at the conference on results of last year’s mandated testing and what is facing schools this year. Hogan, Will Rogers Memorial historical guide and Will Rogers interpreter, talked about Will Rogers and the Claremore Memorial and Oologah birthplace ranch while sharing some of Will’s witty quotes. North Central is an accrediting agency for schools in Oklahoma and 16 other states as well as the Navajo Nation and Department of Defense Schools worldwide.
