Veteran recognition
Russell Core from Sand Springs gets a hug from Laurette Willis, star of “Letters from the Heart: Betty and Will Rogers”, during the summer theatre opening night which especially honored veterans and active duty military. Marine John Campbell and his wife, Bobbie, came from Palestine, Texas, after learning of the production and veterans honor night (July 8) on the Claremore Progress web version of the newspaper. The play continues on Friday nights through Aug. 5. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum store or by calling 918-341-8115. Group rates are available. Will Rogers Memorial Museum is a participant in the Blue Star Museum program and offers a 10 percent discount on Museum store purchases through Labor Day. The Museum is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 365 days a year.
