Plan 2006 Reunion in Groton
On the fortieth anniversary of the launching of the nuclear submarine, the USS Will Rogers, a reunion of crew members is planned next July 19-23 in Groton, Connecticut where the ship was launched.

Carrying 16 intercontinental ballistic missions with multiple re-entry nuclear bombs, the USS Will Rogers christened by the wife of Vice President Hubert Humphrey on July 21, 1966 at Groton.
The late Will Rogers Jr. represented the family at the christening. At Bangor, Washington, the USS Will Rogers decommissioned in October, 1992 after 25 years of service and never firing a shot in anger.
