Bryan Sterling, who with his wife, Frances, spent a lot of time in Claremore and at the Will Rogers Museum during his more than 30 years working on Will Rogers’ books, visited here last week.
Sterling, whose wife died in March, and his nephew Mark Wingerson of Brooklyn, N.Y., were on their way to Wyoming. Mark and his sister were raised by the Sterlings in New York City.

They won the Western Heritage Award for “A Will Rogers Treasury,” as the outstanding non-fiction book of 1983.
“Will Rogers in Hollywood,” is a history of Will’s movie and filmmaking and was a collaborative effort of the couple.
