Will Rogers focus of OETA Writing Out Loud
Teresa Miller has interviewed many of the country’s leading writers and performers on the OETA show Writing Out Loud. Two with ties to Will Rogers Memorial Museum will be on the next two Monday nights.
An interview with Jim Hartz, Will Rogers Memorial Commission chairman, will air 10:30 p.m., Monday, April 25. The former co-host of the Today Show has been on the Commission since 1987 and chairman since 1993. He lives in the Washington, D.C., area but frequently visits the Memorial Museum and Birthplace Ranch.
Hartz also serves as chairman of the Will Rogers Memorial Foundation.
Doris “Coke” Meyer, great-niece of Will Rogers, will be on Miller’s show at 10:30 p.m., Monday, May 2. The granddaughter of Will’s sister, Maud Lane, she is the oldest living Rogers’ relative, who personally knew her famous uncle.
Miller created the Oklahoma Center of Poets and Writers and annually presents Celebration of Books attracting prominent writers to the Center, based at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa. She is the executive producer of Writing Out Loud in its 11th season.
Miller formerly served on the faculty of Claremore Junior College.
