Oklahoma is the focus of a national publication with continuation of the series “America’s Most Beloved Cowboy” in American Cowboy. The May-June issue, now on the newsstand, contains the second in a three-part profile of Will Rogers, written by Joe Carter, former Will Rogers Museum executive director.
This installation starts with Will Rogers’ appearance at a Wild West Show in New York’s Madison Square Garden and continues through Vaudeville days, newspaper articles, books, radio broadcasts and political satire.
There are photos of his young family, Will on his favorite horse and a 1930 radio broadcast.
In the 12th anniversary issue, editor Jesse Mullins’ “More Will Power” cites his long interest in Will Rogers, sharing quotes from Carter’s book “The Quotable W ill Rogers.”
American Cowboy is available on newsstands and at the Will Rogers Museum gift shop.
