Lights on Oologah-Talala fourth graders

Jace Bottoms is cast as Will Rogers and Emily Phillips as his wife, Betty, in the Oologah-Talala fourth grade production of “Life and Times of Will Rogers.”

Oologah fourth grader Cole Hammons shares Will Rogers’ passions — roping and horses. He is a roping cowboy in the school’s Will Rogers Days’ musical production.

Lyndi Melton (from left), Emma Phillips and Ceylor Decker are the social circle of a young Will Rogers in the musical production, written and directed by Oologah-Talala music teacher Kim Grazier.
Kim Grazier and her Oologah-Talala fourth grade music class will again be in the spotlight with an original production of “Life and Times of Will Rogers.” The class will present portions of the musical Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch birthday party celebration.
Many of the production numbers have been originated with Grazier, who has directed the musical several years. One of the perennial favorites of the classes and audiences is “Cherokee Kid.”
Two public musical shows are set Thursday at the Oologah-Talala School Will Rogers Auditorium. They will do consecutive shows Friday — Children’s Day at the Museum — from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Will Rogers Memorial main theatre.
Grazier said family members and friends are urged to attend the Oologah showings at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. to allow space for the several hundred children who will be participating in Children’s Day sessions.
Members of the cast along with Steve Gragert, Will Rogers Memorial director, will be on the Channel 8 Good Day Tulsa show on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
