WRDays Car Show

1913 Ford Roadster

Antique and classic cars will be on display at the Will Rogers Memorial on Saturday, Nov. 6, from noon to 2 p.m., and then many of them will be in the Will Rogers Days Parade. Car owners are making a special appearance at the Claremore Veterans Center before coming to the museum parking lot. Claude Jochman, Chelsea, is proud of this 1913 Ford Roadster, which he had on display at the Will Rogers-Wiley Post Fly-In. Jochman, a former pilot and airfield owner, gave up his airfield east of Claremore, when the Claremore Regional Airfield was built. Will Rogers was a friend of Henry Ford. Ford was unsuccessful in encouraging Will to run for president, but the move caught so much attention, Will Rogers a series of Life magazine articles as a candidate of the “”No Bunk” or “Anti-Bunk” party.
